This page is designed to provide a mechanism for file and data exchange between collaborators and students involved in the Kluane Red Squirrel Project and the general public. You will have access to different files depending on your role in the project.

How to use this site. All currently available files are listed in the table below. Click on the file you would like to download. If you have appropriate access to the file it will download automatically. Otherwise, you will be prompted to enter your username and passowrd. If you are trying to access an 'open' file, please use the password 'redsquirrel'. To request a password or for additional access please contact Andrew McAdam. You will only be asked to enter your password once within a single session. You will not be asked for your password each time you download a file.

Appropriate Use of Data. Researchers involved in the Kluane Red Squirrel Project have made data available through this site in the spirit of collegiality and co-operation. Please feel free to download and use these data for your own purposes. If you intend to publish or otherwise use data or files from this site for your own financial gain, you must contact us to receive prior permission.

New Employees. If you are a new employee with the Kluane Red Squirrel Project please click on the name of the university that will be employing you to get access to the paperwork that you will need to complete in order to process your employment.

Litter data. This file provides reproductive data for all females within the populations. Each record corresponds to a single breeding or nonbreeding event. Data include litter size, parturition date, number of surviving offspring, etc.

Juvenile data. This file prvodes data for all juveniles born in each of the study areas. Each record corresponds to a single juvenile. Data include birth date, body mass at first and second nest entry, etc.

Longevity. This file provides only information on when each individual squirrel was first captured/tagged and when it was last seen or captured. As a result it is used for determining whether individual squirrels were first tagged as offspring within a nest or as immigrants, and includes information on our last recorded observation of each individual.

Behaviour. This file contains all behavioural data collected in the project. These could include territory mapping observations, focal behavioural observations or opportunistically collected data. Each record represents a single observation.
