Well spring marches on and it has certainly been a busy one for us in Kluane. The combination of a mast year (very high spruce cone production) in most of our study areas and the food addition experiment have resulted in a lot of early litters. The spring crew has had their hands full keeping up with all the breeding. Sarah Woods and Eva Rancourt from the winter crew have returned to lend a hand. Their help, together with two new hires (Megan Hornseth and Dierdre Lead), has helped us to stay on top of all of the work. All of this early breeding will likely make for a quieter summer than we are used to.
